Hi all I trust you are having an awesome week.
Let’s
conclude our discussion by exploring the following scripture.
Proverbs 4:23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of
it [are] the issues of life (KJV)
‘Out
of it (heart), are the issues of life!’ This is a little vague to us because we
may easily take the word ‘issues’ and not think too deeply on it. I did some digging
and research for you.
First
let’s see what The Message Bible and The Amplified versions say.
“…
because that’s where your life starts” (Msg),
“… for out of it is the
wellspring of life (Amp)”,
What keeps recurring here is that, life and death have one
source, and that source is your heart. This means that the source of your life
or death, poverty or wealth, sickness or health is not external as we may like
to think! (Take a moment and let that sink in)
Remember the bible says, as one thinks in his heart so is he! So
should your heart think death then you are dead. We may have to wait a little
longer to bury you, but as certain as sunsets, you are going there. The opposite
is also true!
Joyce Meyer says, where the heart goes, sooner or later the body
will follow! Wow!
Where is your heart right now?
Pro 18:21 Death and life are in the power of the
tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.
Do you realize that the tongue is itself powered by the heart?
Remember that, “out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks” (Matt
12:34). So if you clean your heart, your
mouth will be clean too. Your mouth is the spokesman of your heart! “What you
have meditated on and what’s buried deep in your heart???”
Realize that your heart has ability to change your life. Your
heart attracts the manifest presence of God. Similarly your heart can resist
God until he cannot do anything to help your situation.
A lot of people ask from God but sadly their heart takes sides
with the devil against God. When you want God to bless you, heal you or
whatever the need maybe, but if you proceed to speak the words of the devil,
you have just cut out the power of God.
Please remember that anything of value has to do with the heart.
Only your heart can authorize grand decisions, eternal matters or matters
spiritual! Salvation is of the heart, healing is of the heart, faith is of the
heart and love and hope all spring forth from the heart.
Now a heart defiled then simply becomes a life defiled, a doomed
life. A perfect heart earns the kingdom like David. A purified heart is like
medicine to the bones.
Jesus said, out of their belly, innermost being or heart shall
flow rivers of living water (John 7:38),! You will be such a blessing to
the entire community when you have purified your heart.
It’s time to let go of previous hurts, failed marriages, a
cheating spouse, or even a spouse who may have infected you with some disease. People
are not perfect; some of them are downright evil. The reality is that holding a
grudge is like drinking poison and expecting somebody else to die! You are
still alive; you can still move on with your life, you can still secure eternal
life.
Jesus said, if you forgive, God will also forgive your own
sins. He says ‘come to me, … my yoke is
easy, my burden is light!’ (Matt 11:28-30)
Take an audit of your heart today and begin to remove those
things that hinder God from working in you and through you. If you get stuck or
you don’t know what to say then just use the scriptures we have put below:
Search me, O God, and know my heart: try
me, and know my thoughts: And see if [there be any] wicked way in me, and lead
me in the way everlasting. (Psalm 139:23,24)
Create in me a clean heart, O God; and
renew a right spirit within me. (Psalm 51:10). Thank you for removing from me a
heart of stone; I receive a heart of flesh oh God! (Ezekiel
36:26)
I
repent of all evil I have kept in my heart, today I give you total control, I
yield to your word; to walk in love and to forgive and pray for all my enemies.
In the name of Jesus, Amen!

Amen and Amen. Thank you for the word.
ReplyDeleteWhat makes it so challenging for young people is all the temptations that we come across, we live in a generation where you can do what ever you want and whenever you like. I really like this series on guarding your heart, because it has made me think deeper as to who I am and is my life pleasing to God? Its amazing how words can lead a man unto salvation but also take them out of God's presence. Honestly, this series is very relevant for the church or the people in leadership roles because they have the power to save and also kill. It all starts from within.
