Guard Your Heart

Hey What’s Cracking

Yesterday we touched slightly on how God seeks a perfect heart. We realised that the kingdom primarily a Heart-issue! However I have realised a lot of people have diluted the purity of their hearts and it has become difficult for them to receive from God.bthey never quite hear the word in its purity. The word says "To the pure all things are pure"  (Titus 1:15). Impurity of heart will stop you from receiving even the purest message

We also noted that the kingdom of God works from the "Inside Out" . it starts on the inside- Romans 10:10. In Proverbs 23:7 says "as a man thinks in his heart, so is he"

The life of David is a great example of how God will overlook all the mistakes you can make and still work in your life just because you have a perfect heart (1Samuel 16:7)

A question that comes up often is "How do I achieve a perfect heart?"

Over this week we will share simple concepts from the word and the life of David to help you have a perfect heart towards God.

So grab your notepad and jot down today's simple point, meditate upon it and begin to apply it in your life.

1. Guard your heart with all diligence (Proverbs 4:23)
Since God searches the heart and does not focus on outward appearance it is imperative then you watch what you let into your heart

The Word says out of it flows issues of life, therefore your life is a manifestation of what is in your heart.

To live a life that is full of good success requires you to plant the right seeds into your heart so they may begin to change you from the inside out  and bear much fruit.

What seeds have you been planting lately? If we took a peak into your heart what would we find??

Regardless of what is there, a quality decision is all it takes to change.

In Psalm 139:23 David says a profound thing that has been characteristic of those who have a perfect heart towards God (see why we said grab your bible, you must read that for yourself).David wanted to be pleasing to God and he invited Him to do an audit of His heart and help him remove anything that was contrary to what Him. (See Acts 13:22 and see what this quality earned David)

We invite you to also take the words from Psalm 139:23-24 and make them your own as you do your own audit of your heart.

And when you finish that here are a few key points to guarding your heart

1. Spend time in the Word
Psalm 1, Psalm 119:11, Proverbs 4:20-23, John 6:63, 1Peter 2:2

2. Watch the company you keep
Psalm 1, 1Corinthians 5:6, 1Corinthians 15:33, 2Corinthians 6:14

And that's how simple it is........

Till next blog, go out and "Build Faith, Inspire Hope and Share The Agape Love of God"

Peace Out
