Today
we move from discussing and highlighting the negative and start conditioning
ourselves to see the victory that is ours. As we condition ourselves for
victory, there are two ABSOLUTES that I want to believe we must do.
Today
we will cover the first one which as I was studying for got so excited at the
amazing truth that was revealed and I trust that after reading it no longer
will you see yourself as a nobody.
See in His light.
What we
think we are and who we think we are determines what we can do, where we desire
to go and what we can achieve!
Let us
delve into the real being of a child of God and hopefully help you see yourself
the way God sees you.
For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light
shall we see light. Psalm 36:9
The
bible consistently refers to God, Jesus or the kingdom of God as light. The
devil on the other hand is the darkness. Scripture portrays Jesus as the light
that came down to earth from heaven, He was in the light and was the
light (read John 1:1-5,9 )
The word of God is
also referred to as a light (Psalm 119:105)
There
are three meanings to the word – LIGHT
-
Light
talks about something that is right
-
It
refers to enlightenment
-
It also
refers to a way of life considered to be true
Darkness
on the other side represents ignorance, immoral practices, bad outcomes and
falsehood.
This is
important because as Psalm 36:9 says “In Thy light shall we see light”
This
simply means that only in His truth shall we begin to see who we truly are.
So let
us take a look at some of the wonderful truths from the word and thereby begin
to see ourselves in that way
IDENTITY “What He is – we are” (1John 4:17)
In
other ways we primarily draw our identify from God. We don't try to define
ourselves anywhere outside of the word of God.
In His
life is where our life is too. In his palms, lies the fullness of our hope, our
future. We can never define ourselves outside of him. Whether its wealth we
need, it’s all in him. As we draw closer to God, the more we find him, the
closer I find who we are truly made to be (selah)…
Consider
these scriptures
- For
in him we live and move and have our being.’[a]
As some of your own poets have said, ‘We are his offspring. Acts 17: 28
-
For
ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. Colossians
3:3
-
If a man is in Christ
he is a new creation, the old is gone behold all things are become new 2Corinthians 5:17
Remember when you got saved you went into Christ,
and Ephesians
1:20 tells us of where Christ is positioned and because He is
positioned there and we are in Him it means we too are in that position. (let
that sink in for a minute)
ABILITY “What He does, we do”
Jesus came down to give an example of what we could
do with God working in and through us. Mark 16:17-18
The same power that conquered death now works in
and through us, therefore we have the power (remember we spoke of Exousia and Dunamis) to destroy the work of the enemy, but before you shoot off thinking
that you are bad remember that it all comes from our being In Christ.
Inheritance “What He did for us – is ours!”
Ephesians 1:11 says we
have already received an inheritance.
The
work that Jesus did to defeat the enemy is done. The victory also belongs to
us, what we need to do is receive it and yes that means going in to battle,
however this is a battle in which we are already victorious.
2 Corinthians 2:14
says God always (not sometimes) causes us to triumph
1John 4:4, 5:4-5
also remind us that we are victorious we are born of the Truth and the Great
One is in us.
That to me is absolutely awesome. Meditate on the word, read the scriptures for yourself and begin to see yourself in the right light.
